# Commercial Cannabis Yields with LED Grow Lights

The goal of any commercial operation is to maximize profit with the resources available to them. For commercial Cannabis facilities these materials come in the form of genetics, manpower, capital, nutrients, power service available, amount of Cannabis allowed under a license (this can be plant count or canopy size), space available, cooling capacity, etc. All of these items are limited resources and have a cost associated with them, such as electrical service or manpower.

The true value of PhytoMAX LED grow lights in a commercial setting comes from the increased yield they provide. While a savings in lighting or cooling power consumption may seem like an excellent opportunity, the flip-side is that using the same amount of power while producing more product is likely a more profitable path.

In this case study the goal was to assess how the Black Dog LED PhytoMAX 800 compared to 1000 watt HPS fixtures. By determining the yield in terms of grams per watt for each light fixture we can go one step further and extrapolate using the PhytoMAX 1000 in the same test using the same configurations.

## The Value of Increased Yields in a Commercial Grow

At the time of this writing, the wholesale spot index price per pound of Cannabis in Colorado was $2002 according to Cannabis Benchmarks and this is what we will use for our analysis. If you are a fully integrated commercial Cannabis operation and have the ability to sell through your own retail establishments, the value of the Cannabis will likely be significantly higher.

The following increased incremental revenue calculations for the test room are based on yield only and do not take any power savings into account.
